Back with a vengeance

So I've been pretty vacant on the blog front for.. well, for a while. It's definitely not been from my lack of things to blog about, I've been finishing up my degree (12 days and counting, GULP), updating my website (www.sarahgill.co.uk) & my Behance (www.behance.net/sarahgill) & working my part time job at H&M. Oh yeah, I also did this:

Lets just say gin & huge wedges DO NOT mix with me! Luckily it isn't actually broken as I fly to NY 2 weeks today for a post-hand in treat to myself and my little ginger bez, who's also extremely talented (www.micacharlotteconnelly.co.uk). We had a talk at our university from Kevin Roberts, Worldwide CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi last week and from out of no where I grew some balls and asked him if we could come and visit the NY Saatchi & Saatchi office and he said yes! So fingers and toes crossed our little holiday will also involve the amazing opportunity to see how one of the largest advertising companies in the world work! Anyway, what am I doing now? I had a little bash at illustration last night, had the urge to do some drawing for a few weeks now. Here's a peek, if you can guess who it is I'll give you a big fat cake.

New Mailer

I made a beautiful mailer only to discover that after 2 weeks of work I can't get it printed anywhere (without costing me an arm and a leg!) because it's an strange format (my favorite kind!)

So here's the start of my new one, hoping to get it finished off tomorrow so I can screen print it next week fingers crossed!

Summartive Take 2

A mailer done to send out to future employers (scary!). I wanted to avoid the classic "here's just a small taster of my portfolio" and give them a small taster on my views on design. It was also 1000mm x 100mm which was a really weird format to work in but I do love a challenge.

This was an A0 Screenprint. Most fun I've ever had on a project. Screenprinting makes me a very happy girl.

TRANSITION

A recent editorial project, a monograph on the word Transition. Very open ended so I decided to use abstract shapes to reflect synonyms of transition.
